Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I

United Kingdom 1956

Silver Cloud is the first car that Rolls-Royce assembled and produced bodywork independently. Unlike the load-bearing bodywork commonly used by other competing models in the same period, Silver Cloud still uses a non-bearing structure. Rolls-Royce believes that they should allow customers to choose their preferred bodywork without replacing the powertrain. The chassis of Silver Cloud can also carry other bodies produced by Rolls-Royce, such as the Bentley Continental S sedan that came out in the same year in 1955.
