Auto Union 1000 SP

Germany 1961

In 1932, the four companies, Audi, DKW, Horch and Wanderer joined together to form the Auto Union, which is now the predecessor of Audi. In terms of automobile output, the Auto Union was the second largest automobile manufacturing company in Germany at that time. The logo was four connected circles, representing the four automobile companies participating in the merger.

The 1000SP is the first model named after the Auto Union. The car has a unique shape and a fin tail shape at the rear of the body. At that time, it was an extremely small sports car. 1000SP was also called the “mini version of Ford Thunderbird”.
