Porsche 993

Germany 1997

The Porsche 993 is the fourth generation of the Porsche 911 series, mainly produced in 1993-1998. The Porsche 993 is the last model of the 911 series equipped with the air-cooled engine. Therefore, some people call it “the last king of air cooling.”

The Porsche 993, designed by British designer Tony Hatter, was the first model in the 911 series, which adopts a 6-speed manual transmission. It has not been used since then until that the 911 of 2011 version is equipped with the first 7-speed manual transmission in the world. The Porsche 933, also the first 911 to use the multi-link suspension system and electronic control system, is more stable and easier to control.
